Biography
Swedish fashion designer Ida Johansson, based in Barcelona, hallmarks innovation and high quality garments, stuffed with feeling and meaning.
The Ida Johansson label continues to be inspired by a sense of universal duality. Her first collection in 2009, Magnetic Myth, celebrated the union of men and women, quite literally, in a series of clothing to be worn by both sexes and at the same time.
Then, in 2010, Intergalactic Intestines, a fantasy line, was born after a voyage to India. This collection is another expression of dual forms, which Johansson says comes partly inspired by the Swedish photographer Lennart Nilsson. His images from inside the human body draw parallels with that of outer space, deepening the concept that man and universe are inextricably linked.
Ida explains her other motivations for continuing the theme into 2011's Connecting Codes: “Well, when I did the Intergalactic Intestines collection I was working with the singer Nina Kinert for her tour outfit for the album 'Read Leader Dream'. She wanted me to watch the Star Wars movies as her music takes from its themes. In the end I had so many new visions that I had to keep on working with the idea, I fell in love with the fantasy. So Connecting Codes is an expansion of epic legends; 70's heroines turned futuristic and ethereal.”
Ida Johansson label graceful, elegant and flirt.
